Straddled along Hwy 377 north of 380, the city of Aubrey Texas is a growing suburb in northern Denton County. Aubrey has seen several new home communities in the past few years including Sandbrock Ranch, Arrowbrooke, Silverado, Winn Ridge, Sutton Fields, Providence, Savannah and others. Aubrey has been an attractive destination for families looking for affordable homes.
Growth Along the 380 Corridor
The population of Aubrey was a little over 3600 in 2018, but the area has been growing fast as developers bought up land to build homes in the area. A new elementary campus (Jackie Fuller Elementary) was built inside the new D.R. Horton development of Silverado. Aubrey ISD is planning for additional growth during the next decade as available land is developed into new homes.
Things are pretty quiet in the small town of Aubrey. There’s a local library and a fall peanut festival. Other activities are generally found in the newer communities which have sprouted up in the area. The Aubrey 380 Area Chamber of Commerce lists other businesses and activities in this growing area where suburban outgrowth from Dallas has attracted new residents. The closest hospital is located in Denton, but there are other small practices and dental services available in the 380 area. Aubrey has a small winery just to the northeast of the community of Providence.
