Denton TX Home Prices Take A Breather

Denton TX home prices have leveled off during the last few months as the rampant home price inflation seen throughout the DFW area softened the last few months. Typical seasonal factors are at play as well as some general cooling of DFW's overheated housing market. The average price for a new Denton TX home stood at $295,533 in September, down from the peak of $340, 123 seen in January this year. Prices for resale homes in Denton TX peaked in June this year with the average price hitting $274, 070 before cooling to $240,607. NAR: Existing Home Sales Cool In February

The National Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales cooled to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.48 million in February. Sales of existing homes fell 3.7 from January levels but were 5.4 percent higher year-over-year. NAR continues to fret about an inventory shortage when the real culprit is elevated home prices in general. Existing home sales are still treading at levels well below the previous cycle peak. NAR: Existing Home Sales Fizzle In February As Affordability Evaporates

The National Association of Realtors reported that existing home sales fizzled in Februrary, falling to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.08 million. This was a sharp decline from January numbers but 2 percent higher than a year ago. NAR's chief economist, Lawrence Yun, mentioned the stock market, poor weather on the East coast, as well as supply and affordability issues. At least he got one of the four correct! The real problem surrounding the U.S. real estate market is a lack of affordability. Home prices have been levitated back to the previous bubble levels [...]
