Dallas Fort Worth Employment Growth Solid, Wage Growth Still Lags Real Inflation

Dallas-Fort Worth employment continues to grow, but wage growth is nothing to write home about. The Texas unemployment rate (at least the statistically massaged headline unemployment rate) hit an historic low in October at 3.7 percent. Dallas Fort Worth job growth was still impressive through October according to the latest data from the Texas Workforce Commission. Denton TX home sales hit the breaks in July. It would appear that the summer selling season peaked a little sooner than normal in the Denton County area this year. It looks like both the city of Denton and the greater Denton County area saw home sales volume peak in June. DFW Adds 10,000 Jobs In June, CPI Still Running Hot

The DFW area tacked on another 10,000 jobs during the month of June according to numbers released by the Texas Workforce Commission. That was more than a third of the 27,200 positions gained in Texas during the month. Dallas TX employment continues to march higher. September brought an increase of 15,600 jobs compared to revised August figures. The Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington MSA region added 93,600 jobs during the past year according to numbers from the Texas Workforce Commission.
