New Home Sales Level Off With Rates Near Record Lows

New home sales have leveled off now that mortgage interest rates stagnating at record lows. It would appear the massive stimulus from the Fed which began in March of this year has run its course. The big question is what comes next. The Census Bureau reported new residential home sales for October at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 999,000 units. Meritage Submits Plans For New Corinth Housing Development Along Lake Sharon Dr

Meritage Homes has submitted an application for development for a new community along Lake Sharon Drive just east of the recently-completed Terrace Oaks subdivision. The new proposed 83-acre community is slated for 447 home sites in total. Preliminary plans call for 249 single-family "Cottage Home" sites with lots approximately 50'x 120'. There are also 198 "Patio Home" lots which are roughly 30'x 98'. These would feature a denser townhome product located toward the center of the community. Home Prices Soar As Denton County Home Inventory Bottoms

Home prices soared again last month as Denton County home inventory appears to have bottomed at record lows. Updated data show 1.3 months of supply in Denton County and just 1.7 months of home supply in the DFW market. North Texas home sales continued to defy economic stagnation in September. NTREIS data reflect a 24 percent rise in home sales in the DFW area last month. Pending sales look to be up by 17 percent. New Home Sales Highest Since 2006

New home sales for August came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 1,011,000 units. This was above expectations depending on who you were asking. The August figures from Census put U.S. new home sales up 4.8 percent from July, and up a whopping 43.2 percent from August 2019. New home sales were at the highest levels since 2006. New Home Sales Continue Covid Rebound, Up 6.9% Year-over-Year

The Census Bureau reported new home sales for June at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 776,000. That was a 13.8% jump from May sales and a 6.9% increase compared to June 2019.
