Denton County Home Sales Slide 7% In August

Denton County home sales continued to stagnate in August, sliding 7 percent from the same time last year. Denton area home sales declined a bit more than the DFW area as a whole during August,  likely due to the higher average price points in Denton County. The average price of a Denton County home in August posted at $362,872, almost $50,000 higher than the greater DFW area. Denton County Home Inventory Climbs 17% As Sales Stagnate

The supply of homes for sale in Denton County TX continues to climb, even as area home sales stagnate. Recent data point to a 17 percent increase in the number of homes available for sale in Denton County compared to this time last year.  Home inventory in nearby Collin County is 21 percent higher than August of last year. Foreign Buyers Purchasing Fewer U.S. Homes In 2018

The latest 'Profile of International Transactions in U.S. Residential Real Estate 2018' shows that foreign buyers were purchasing fewer U.S. homes and for lower average prices compared to the same 12-month period. New Home Sales Miss Expectations In June Despite Lower Prices

The Census Bureau reported new home sales for June at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 631,000. This was below expectations, and a 5.3 percent decline from May. The previous three months were also revised lower. Compared to last June, new home sales were up a modest 2.4%. New Home Sales Increase To 689,000 Annual Rate In May

The Census Bureau reported new home sales for May at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 689,000 units. This was above forecasts, but previous months were revised lower. According to Census figures the median price of a new single-family home sold in May was $313,000, more than $10,600 LESS than last year's median price.
